FALL/WINTER 2009
CHILDREN’S CONSIGNMENT SALE

     CHARITABLE OUTREACH

Wee World is excited to be working with Bluebonnet Babies & SAMMinistries. We have been involved with Bluebonnet Babies since our Fall 2006 sale. SAMMinistries came on board in Spring 2008.  Wee World supports these organizations by encouraging our consignors to donate any of their unsold items at the sale’s end. These donated items are then used to provide for 1,000’s of families in need across San Antonio and the surrounding areas. Below you will find information about Blue Bonnet Babies & SAMMinistries. We hope that you will consider donating your unsold items to these incredible causes.

Bluebonnet Babies is a local charitable organization whose members promote 'Crafting for Charity'. They reach out to families and children in need by making and donating items to: University Hospital NICU, St. Luke's Baptist Hospital NICU, Baptist Medical Center NICU, Balcones Police Dept., Ft. Sam Houston, Operation Home Front, Schertz Animal Shelter and Universal City Animal Shelter. Feel free to visit their website and learn more at www.angelcrafts.net/bluebonnetbabies.

“Thanks so much for keeping us on your donation list. We truly appreciate all you have done for BBB. We're just a small group that tries to help so many... we are thankful you have considered us and kept us. :) ...we’re making sure a baby somewhere gets something it needs and you've helped us make that dream a reality. -Lyn (Bluebonnet babies, Spring 2008)

“Once again, on behalf of Bluebonnet Babies, I would like to thank both of you for the donations we received yesterday. We will be able to fill lots of diaper bags for the military babies over the next few months and make up baby bundles for a couple of the hospitals. I know the pregnancy clinic will love having all the maternity clothes and most of the stuffed animals and toys will be donated to a local police department to be used as gifts for their Christmas party for needy neighborhood children.”  _Judy S. (Blue Bonnet Babies, Fall 2008)

SAMMinistries Did you know that 44% of the homeless are families and that 64% of homeless family members are children? Did you know that the average age of a homeless person is 9 years old? In ‘07 SAMMinistries served 938 family members at an average of 74+ families and over 200 children every day in addition to the over 4,000 single men and women.

SAMMinistries, founded in 1983, is an interfaith ministry whose mission is to help the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless attain self-sufficiency by offering, with dignity and compassion, shelter, housing and services. SAMMinistries operates a downtown emergency shelter; a transitional living and learning center; a transitional housing program with 25 houses; and Furniture For a Cause, a new and used retail store with all net proceeds benefiting SAMMinistries. They accept donations of new and gently used items including clothes, shoes, toiletries, linens, housewares, furniture, and food. For more information about their programs and how to get involved, please visit www.samm.org. Thank you for your support!

How can you help?
You can assist these families by choosing to donate any of your unsold items. When using our online tagging system, you can indicate which items you would like to donate if they are not sold. The letter "D" will appear on your tag letting us know that you would like to donate this particular item if it does not sell. Then we will do the rest. All items are tax deductible.
